Moleskine Pages- Nothing Is Secret

Nothing is secret, nothing sacred. Everything was out in the open but only for those with eyes to see. Her blue skin matched the sky and the yellow stripe down his back was an ugly birth mark. It gave him strength and a reason to hurt. She on the other hand was a delicate soul with no self and no aura. Together they lived in a glass heart they broke daily.

Moleskine Pages- Pay Me

Everything happened at the same time in the same place. Chaos has never been so organized. Traffic moved swiftly over our backs and birds were hatched into cooking pots. Love was born with a tragic aura already in place, while we drank to past sorrows and future joys. We knew it all but we were happy anyway.

Old Friends Collage series

A series of three collages dealing with the big questions about life and death, I didn't intend for them to turn out so creepy....or did I?

Moleskine Pages - We Will Carry On Forever

" We played games just to make ends meet. We played game sto meet in the middle. We played because we couldn't stop. At some point we gave up trying without friction we will carry on forever."

Invisible Fault Lines - Moleskine Art

At parties I am one of those people bracing a wall: holding a drink as if my life depended on it. With a rictus grin plastered across my chops trying to look as if I'm having the time of my life. I always go with the aim of having fun but it rarely turns out that way. The other guests are mainly artists, with a smattering of fairly/ very well known ones which have a crowd 6 foot deep around them trying to initiate conversation, or invite them to a private view or generally brown nose. Others seem to know everyone and seem very comfortable in their own skin, the rest like me sit rigidly hoping no one approaches them at the same time fearing no one will come up and talk. Even at my own private views I try to blend into the walls/ carpet/ furniture. Why am I so darn anti social? I think of myself as a people person with something to offer, why am I so crap at getting that across. I want to be one of the shameless show offs hogging all the oxygen just for once!

We Are Stardust - Moleskine Art

These sketches were done surreptitiously at a party, I think it may have been a wedding. I was moved almost to tears by the sight of women of all ages dancing with complete and utter abandon. Probably with the aid of a drink or too, their inhibitions three sheets to the wind. Everything was forgotten except the music and the feel of their bodies moving. I don't know wht it made emotional but it did. They were in that moment beguilingly beautiful.

We Are So Proud - Moleskine Art

If you do something for twenty days running it becomes a habit! And humans are creatures of habit. Even events or actions that may appear outlandish for some are habits to others, we can assimilate anything. That is why as a species we have been so successful. Under the banner of 'habit' families can file open secrets, and every family has them!

Moleskine Art - Refuse

I have been struggling recently with my work. I've never really stopped to think too deeply about what I am saying or how I'm saying it. I've concluded that over thinking is the best way to stifle my inner voice. That what works for me is to just put the pen to paper and see what turns up. Advance planning just brings on creative constipation. Trusting the inner voice however is not easy, if I argue with it, it just lies and tells me what it thinks I want to hear. A very delicate, easily wounded thing this damn voice!
So for the time being, I've decided to let my critical faculties take a back seat and trust my brain to hand connection. The resulting work might not appeal to everyone, but at least I'll know that I am offering my truth. I can't do any better than that!
