Moleskine Pages- Welcome To my Uncertainty

From close range I caught his cold, his child and his charisma. He asked for them back. She despised magic tricks. His whole life was an illusion. A made-up world of ever more mind bending lies.

Moleskine Pages- Pussy

The pussy cat walked to the end of a plank, he had a honey in his bed and money in the bank but he still couldn't be happy. He watched the circus folk come and go from his vantage point, his plastic doll's feet were becoming his own.

Moleskine Pages- Sock It To 'Em

She loved me, she loved me not. I didn't need to spell out what she, the cat's mother, couldn't read. Which Gods do I call on for routine emergencies?

Moleskine Pages- On Silent Days

His skeletons were too numerous to confine to a cupboard. He didn't even bother to hide his trail of bloody devastation. She wouldn't hear a bad word against him. On silent days, the screams could be heard for months all round. She mopped up the blood and smiled to herself. She felt lucky most of the time, he loved her true!

Moleskine Pages- The Sin Eater

The sin eater would absorb everyone's transgressions till her very DNA hummed with danger. Her serene skin held in a sausage of unspoken fury. He misread her signs and risked his all.

Moleskine Pages- A Fear Of Snakes

I never had a fear of snakes, but he didn't know that. I kept my weaknesses to myself. He thought he knew me.

Moleskine Pages- ACat On A Cold Concrete Roof

She lived close to heaven, wild with silence and dead with life. Every night while cats called and courted, she hosted feasts for the granite Gods, buying brownie points and investment bonds with a cold cold heart. No one can see her, but no one can see past her. She became a ghost well before she died.

Moleskine Pages - Stardust

They said it would rain, I didn't expect to drown. They read me fairy tales, I believed them. I live in the shadows of the tree of life waiting to be struck by lightening, I am stardust.

Moleskine Pages- A Gentle Prayer

'Jack's job was to remove dead body parts from the world.'
If it's a hand, shake it. If it has a face try and wake it. If you spot any hair then say a gentle prayer.

Fresh Air Doesn't Guarantee Breathing - Moleskine Art

One of my gifts for my fourth birthday was a Wade wall plaque of a cat's face. My mother thought I'd like it as I was animal crazy. She hung it over my bed lovingly. Now this was the meanest looking cat I'd ever seen.
To my childish eyes it looked as if it had been skinned, it's rictus grin never faltering. If I saw that cat's head now I'd probably find it quite sweet and charming, but in my head it has taken on mythical powers of evil. I'd fantasize that it was spying on me, that it was colluding with my mother to thwart my every independent move, that says more about my relationship with my mother than anything else. My brother and sisters still remember that head with a shudder so it wasn't all in my mind.I have found the offending article online, so you can see for yourself.

I Was And Remain Earthbound - Moleskine Art

The older I get, the smaller my life gets! I remember being four and sitting at the bottom of my grandmother's garden and thinking if I sat still enough, I'd catch sight of some elves/fairies/goblins going about their business. I'd follow ant trails in the hope of being led their homes where I was convinced I'd find miniature bunk beds, tiny sofas, and antified stereo systems. Once, I got stuck atop a pile of rocks where builders where adding a new garage.  Too scared to climb down, I was relieved to see our 'mother' cat that had recently given birth to a litter of kittens in our garden. I politely asked her in plain English to either help me down or call my mum to do so. You can't imagine how deeply hurt I was to see 'Mother' cat stick her nose up in the air and walk away as if she hadn't heard a thing! Anyway, life slowly chipped away my convictions and it slowly dawned on me that life is much more linear than Fairy Tales had led me to believe. As I digested my limitations I turned more and more to art in order to take flight and indulge my fancies.
